The British Truck Racing Championship roared into the high-speed Thruxton Circuit for Round Three of the 2025 season and Team Oliver Racing delivered a weekend packed with pace, podiums, and drama at the UK’s fastest track.

Saturday – Qualifying & Races 1 & 2

Qualifying – Strong Grid Positions Secured

Saturday morning began on a high with a strong qualifying session that set the tone for the weekend. All three drivers showed pace and confidence through Thruxton’s high-speed corners:

  • Michael Oliver – P2

  • Stuart Oliver – P3

  • Martin Gibson – P8

A fantastic result that put Team Oliver Racing right in the mix from the outset.

Race One – Double Podium to Kick Things Off

The opening race saw fireworks from the start. Stuart Oliver capitalised on his second-row grid position with a determined drive, engaging in a thrilling battle with his teammate Michael before securing a brilliant P2 finish.

Michael Oliver, starting from the front row, faced intense pressure throughout but delivered a composed and defensive masterclass to take home a hard-earned P3 podium.

Martin Gibson was right in the heart of the midfield action, showing resilience and racecraft to bring the truck home in P8, earning pole position for Race Three on Sunday thanks to the reverse grid rules.

Race Two – Updated Results Bring a Win!

Race Two brought more high-speed action with the grid set by second-fastest qualifying times. Once again, the team was on the pace:

  • Stuart Oliver initially crossed the line in P2 but was later awarded the win (P1) after post-race adjustments.

  • Michael Oliver, who had fought hard for a P4 finish, was also promoted to a well-earned P3.

  • Martin Gibson suffered a late spin after a spirited drive in the midfield but recovered to finish P12.

The revised results gave Team Oliver Racing another double podium – and Stuart his first win of the weekend.

Sunday – Reverse Grids and Racing Drama

Race Three – Fighting Hard in the Midfield

Sunday’s opening reverse grid race saw the top eight from Race One flipped, placing Martin Gibson on pole, Michael Oliver in P3, and Stuart Oliver starting from row four.

  • Martin showed strong pace early on and held his own in a tightly contested pack to finish P4.

  • Michael was in the thick of the action too, absorbing heavy pressure and delivering a consistent drive to claim P5.

  • Stuart’s race ended early after contact caused rear wheel damage. A black and orange flag forced him to pit, resulting in a frustrating DNF.

Race Four – High Drama and a Red Flag Restart

Race Four brought a major twist. Just moments after lights out, contact in the pack saw Michael Oliver spun into the barriers, bringing out the red flags. After a medical check-up, we’re relieved to confirm Michael is okay, though his truck was too damaged to continue for the day.

Following track repairs, the race was restarted with Stuart and Martin back in action. Stuart launched a fierce comeback drive, finishing just shy of the podium in P4, while Martin battled through to secure P8.

Race Five – Curfew Cuts Short the Finale

The final race of the weekend saw Stuart line up on row seven and Martin on row three. Both drivers made strong starts and looked set to climb the order, but the race was soon neutralised by a yellow flag.

Moments later, the red flag was waved as the circuit curfew was reached, ending the race prematurely. Results were declared at the time of the stoppage:

  • Martin Gibson – P5

  • Stuart Oliver – P8

Weekend Summary

Despite the highs and lows, Team Oliver Racing leave Thruxton with a solid haul of points, a race win, and four podium finishes. The team showed pace, resilience, and determination throughout, a clear sign of their growing strength in this year’s championship battle.

Team Results Recap:

  • Race Win – Stuart Oliver (Race 2, amended result)

  • Podiums – Stuart (P2, Race 1), Michael (P3, Races 1 & 2)

Next up – the trucks head to Donington Park for Round Four, where Team Oliver Racing will be looking to build on their momentum and chase more silverware.
