Team Oliver Racing delivered an outstanding performance at Thruxton this weekend for Round Two of the British Truck Racing Championship, showcasing pace, determination, and resilience across a challenging mix of conditions.

The weekend got off to the perfect start in qualifying, with both drivers delivering exceptional laps to secure a front row lockout. Stuart claimed P2, with Michael close behind in P3, putting the team in a prime position heading into Race One.

Race One saw Team Oliver Racing fully capitalise on that strong start. Both drivers launched brilliantly off the line, with Stuart quickly taking control of the race. Demonstrating incredible pace and consistency, he pulled clear of the field to secure a dominant victory by over six seconds. Meanwhile, Michael found himself in a fierce battle for the podium, showing great racecraft and determination to bring home an excellent P3, marking a fantastic result for the team.

Conditions took a turn in Race Two as heavy rain swept across Thruxton, creating extremely difficult racing conditions. Despite reduced visibility and a slippery track, both Stuart and Michael showed great skill and composure at the front of the pack. The race was ultimately cut short by a red flag, with Stuart securing P3 and Michael finishing just behind in P4 – another strong double result in challenging circumstances.

Sunday’s opening race introduced the reverse grid, placing both drivers in the midfield. Michael made an incredible start and quickly moved into contention at the front, but unfortunately a technical issue forced him into early retirement. Stuart continued to fly the flag for the team, producing an impressive drive through the field to secure another podium finish in P3.

Race Four brought more mixed conditions, with rain returning just as the lights went out. Both drivers started side by side and immediately went on the attack. Stuart was unfortunately forced off track in the early battles but showed great determination to recover and fight back to P8 with some very strong lap times. Michael, meanwhile, was right in the thick of the action at the front, battling wheel-to-wheel for the podium. He delivered a superb drive to finish P2, capping it off with a well-deserved birthday podium.

The final race of the weekend proved to be another tough test. With Stuart starting from row three and Michael at the back of the grid on a damp and slippery track, both drivers had work to do. Stuart suffered early contact and damage but battled on to finish P9, while Michael drove a strong recovery race, carving his way through the field to take P8. The race was red flagged before the finish due to track conditions, bringing the weekend to a close.

Overall, it was a highly successful and eventful weekend for Team Oliver Racing, with multiple podium finishes, a dominant race win, and strong performances in all conditions. The team now looks ahead to the next round at Pembrey with confidence and momentum.

A huge thank you to all of our team for their hard work and dedication throughout the weekend, to our sponsors for their continued support, and to all the fans trackside and following along from home, we couldn’t do it without you.
